Honest craft, measured twice,
built to last a generation.

Northline Construction & Repair Co. is a family-run general contracting firm serving homeowners, landlords, and small businesses with masonry, roofing, framing, and the kind of patient repair work that the trade has quietly forgotten how to do.

5.0 ★Average review score

A full bench of trades under one roof.

We keep framers, masons, roofers, electricians, and plumbers on staff — not subcontractors chased down by the day. That means a single point of contact, a single schedule, and a single warranty on your work order.

M

Masonry & stonework

Chimney rebuilds, retaining walls, brick repointing, flagstone patios, and cast-stone restoration. We quarry-match existing stone so patches read as continuous, not as a repair.

R

Roofing

Asphalt, cedar shake, standing-seam metal, and slate. Full tear-offs, flashing replacement, ice-dam remediation and 20-year workmanship warranty on every pitched roof we install.

C

Carpentry & framing

Rot repair, sistered joists, porch rebuilds, interior build-outs and trim restoration. We shim, scribe and plane on-site for a fit that looks original to the house.

E

Electrical repair

Panel upgrades, knob-and-tube remediation, dedicated appliance circuits, EV-charger rough-ins, and whole-home surge protection. All work under state license and permit.

P

Plumbing

Repiping, water heater replacement, leak detection, sump pumps, drain stack repair and fixture installation. Same day for emergency leaks within the service area.

F

Fences & decks

Cedar, composite and pressure-treated builds — new fencing, stair rebuilds, deck resurfacing and structural reinforcement with post footings set below frost line.

We write the quote. We stand behind the quote.

Every estimate is itemized by line — materials, labor, waste, permit fees. Nothing hides inside a "miscellaneous" bucket. If a scope changes mid-project you see the change order before anyone swings a hammer.

  • Fixed-price contracts, not hourly billing, for every defined scope.
  • All permits pulled under our license — never the homeowner's.
  • Daily job-site cleanup, including driveway magnet sweep on roof tear-offs.
  • Two-year workmanship warranty on all repair work, 20 years on new roofs.

How a Northline job runs.

Four stages. No surprises in any of them. You see the same project manager from the first site visit through the final walk-through.

01

Site walk & scope

A licensed estimator walks the site, measures, photographs, and writes a scope of work you approve in plain English before pricing.

02

Itemized quote

Every line is broken out — material by SKU, labor by hour, permit by municipality. You sign a fixed-price contract.

03

Build on schedule

Materials staged, crew assigned, site protected. A daily log goes to your inbox each evening with photos of the day's progress.

04

Walk-through & warranty

Final punch list cleared together, warranty documents handed over, and your project manager stays reachable for two full years.

What clients say.

★★★★★

"They rebuilt a 120-year-old chimney and you cannot tell where the new brick starts. The matching work alone was worth the number on the invoice."

— Margaret H., Medford
★★★★★

"Daily photo log every night at 6pm. I've hired four GCs in this town over the years, no one else has ever done that. It changed how I trust a contractor."

— Daniel P., Belmont
★★★★★

"Found three framing issues the previous inspector missed. Fixed them before they became a load-bearing problem. Fair price, straight talk, zero drama."

— Ellen & Ray K., Winchester

Questions we answer most often.

Do you handle very small repair jobs?+

Yes. A rebuilt step, a leaking faucet, a single rotted sill — these are the jobs that keep a house in condition. Minimum service visit is one hour.

Are you licensed to pull permits in my town?+

We are state-licensed and registered with every municipality in our service area. All permits are pulled in our name, never in the homeowner's.

What is your payment schedule?+

For projects over $5,000: 30% on contract, 40% at material delivery, 25% at substantial completion, 5% at punch-list sign-off. Nothing upfront for repair visits.

Do you work in winter?+

Interior scopes run year-round. Exterior masonry and roofing pause below 40°F per manufacturer warranty requirements, but emergency repairs are covered twelve months a year.

Will the same crew be on my job each day?+

Yes. Each project is assigned a lead and a two-to-four person crew that stays through completion. We do not rotate day laborers through residential work.
